Hello readers
I have been waiting to visit the new Qantas Club Melbourne lounge since it opened last November! This new lounge was meant to have an extra 10% capacity, but it certainly needed more when l went on a Wednesday evening – most areas were packed!
Key details
- The lounge is open to Qantas’s business class travelers / QFF Platinum, Gold and Club members. Note there is a separate Business Class lounge for business class travelers, and Platinum members – which l would highly recommend visiting over this lounge!
- Open daily from 60 minutes from the first departure of the day, and closes until the last flight is called for boarding
- Enter via escalator on the first floor after Security

Given how busy it was, it was challenging to photograph all the areas! It is also hard to have a quiet convo given how noisy it is (seating is close together).
Dining and drinks
There was a self-service food and drink area, which is OK. As you can expect, no a la carte menu, and the vegetarian curry wasnt great, but some decent fruit cake, and plenty of fruit and biscuits.
The wine / beer offering was decent. There was a wide array of non-alcoholic beverages (most soft drinks / mineral water / juices).

Other facilities (showers etc)
As you can imagine with domestic flights, there isn’t much need for showers. There are a few, but unfortunately, they don’t get cleaned too often (like this international business class lounges, which get cleaned after each use).
Below is a picture of perhaps the only space in the lounge which wasn’t packed!

An OK lounge to spend some time before your flight.
Feel free to ask me any questions!
