Looking to take a “Spontaneous Escape” in July? Then try this Krisflyer promo!

admin · June 20, 2018 · Leave a Comment

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer program have a great promotion called “Spontaneous Escapes” awards which offers 30% off the standard redemption price for business and economy class travel. As the name somewhat suggests, you need to travel next month to and from Singapore, with a number of Australian flight options available! You also need to redeem for flights before 30 June!

This is great value if you are able to travel next month, and want even better value for money for your KrisFlyer miles! A few destinations have some blackout dates during peak travel periods.

How much saving do l really get?

If you are looking to book a one-way Business Class redemption from Sydney or Brisbane to Singapore, the redemption price goes down from 58,000 to 40,6000 KrisFlyer miles. On the promotion page, you will see all the other available options, and the flight details which are eligible.

For Sydney to Singapore, flight numbers SQ212 (Boeing 777 departing Sydney in the morning at 7:55am), SQ242 (Boeing 777 departing Sydney in the evening at 6pm), SQ288 (Boeing 777 departing Sydney at 9:20pm with a brief stopover in Canberra) can be booked, but the school holiday period of 1-8 July is deemed a blackout period. Unfortunately, there is no discounted redemption from Singapore to Sydney, but you could always go Singapore to Adelaide, and then hop on a domestic flight somewhere.

Summary

This is good value for those who can book “spontaneously”. It tends to occur every month or so, therefore l will be keeping an eye out on my calendar to see if l can book a cheeky flight to Singapore – a city which l love to visit!
