Hi there,
In my opinion, Singapore Airlines is the best carrier to fly with internationally. Its service is second to none, and the hard product is amazing. It also has flies a large number of services to and from Australia. In addition, stopping over at Changhi Airport (where one can fly onwards to many destinations) is a great experience with many things to do.
Singapore Airlines’ loyalty program is called Krisflyer, and is arguably the best frequent flyer program outside the Big 2 (Qantas and Velocity).
There are a number of Australian credit card reward programs which have partnered with Krisflyer, and there is value for points in terms of redemptions, in particular for Business and First Class seats.
Note: Miles expire after three years at the end of the month in which they are earned. For example, if you flew on 5 January 2018, and the miles were credited that month, the miles will expire on 31 January 2021.
Krisflyer has two membership tiers. They are:
- Elite Silver
- Elite Gold
What is the best way to redeem Krisflyer miles?
Note: If you have too many Krisflyer miles (what a lovely problem to have!), but need Velocity points, read my guide to solve this problem!
