Drinks
A number of seating areas are available to have a drink – there is a bar where you can request special cocktails etc, which is very nice!
There is also a self serve bar which has an extensive selection of drinks (again, a good range of Western and Asian drinks).
The other things (showers, service etc)
One of the signature items at The Pier is the “massages” – l got there about 3 hours before my flight, and l still couldn’t get one, which was very disappointing.
Showers were nice, and spacious – Cathay also use Aesop products (my favourite brand!).
The day suites were booked out when l got there (again, disappointing!). My thought process is to always offer enough of certain services, otherwise don’t offer it at all!
Service was attentive (as you can expect with Cathay Pacific) – if in need, there is always someone around who can assist.
Overall
As l mentioned above, The Pier is a top class lounge, with its numerous areas where you can sit in peace, or enjoy the company of others. The A la carte dining option is a stand out, and if only l got to try the day suites and massages, l am sure l would have called it the best lounge l have visited!
