From: London
To: Vienna
Cabin: Club Europe (what BA call their business class cabin)
Rating: 6.5/10
Flight number: BA 700
Airplane: Airbus A320
I have heard and read some decent things about British Airways (BA) Club Europe product on long hauls, but it certainly doesn’t apply to their short haul trips! It felt more like an expensive economy seat.
See below for why that is the case!
Airbus A320
The BA Club Europe cabin has a 2-2 seating layout – though its really three seats on both sides, with the middle seat not sold. As with nearly all business class products, it starts at the front of the plane, but they have a curtain separating business and economy, which can move. This means that if there is a lot of demand for Club Europe, they can add the tables in the middle seat and slide the curtain back!
Before the flight!
Being in Club Europe, you still get access to priority check in and boarding, and access to the business class lounge. As l was departing from Heathrow Terminal 3, l visited the BA Galleries lounge – a decent lounge! My detailed review is available here.
On the flight!
As mentioned above, the seating arrangements is 2- 2. There is a dedicated toilet up front for the Club Europe cabin.
The seat is exactly the same seat as an economy seat.
Dining and in-flight service
There is also a pre takeoff drink – l opt for an orange juice but there is also sparkling wine or water. Also you get a hot towel.
Food is basic – a sandwich (l got beef but the other option was a halloumi sandwich – photos below). At least the food was served with a cloth / cutlery, but the food was average.
Overall
Luckily l used points for this trip, but even then l felt a little ripped off using the extra points to get a fancy economy seat.
